Anemia (Severe Iron Deficiency)
Anemia during pregnancy, commonly due to iron deficiency, increases vulnerability to other complications such as hemorrhage and infections. Severe anemia can also cause fatigue, weakness, and increased susceptibility to postpartum hemorrhage. In rural areas with limited prenatal care, many women enter pregnancy already anemic, and without intervention, the risks to both mother and child are heightened. Addressing maternal anemia requires dietary supplements, healthcare guidance, and routine screening during pregnancy.
